Telehealth vs. In-person
Should I Choose a Telehealth or In-Person Appointment?
We want your care to fit your life. Both options are available, and the right choice depends on what works best for you. If you’re not sure what’s best, we’re happy to help you decide. Just reach out! You also can switch between in person and virtual based on your schedule, needs, or preferences. It’s flexible.
Telehealth
Telehealth is a convenient option if you have a quiet, private space and a stable internet connection. It's especially helpful if you have a busy schedule, difficulty with transportation, or simply feel more comfortable meeting from home.
Telehealth is not appropriate for urgent crises. If you are in danger, experiencing suicidal thoughts, or need immediate support, call 988 or go to your nearest emergency department.
For telehealth appointments with us, you must be physically in the state of Colorado at the time of the session.
By choosing a telehealth appointment, you agree to ensure a private, quiet, and stable internet‑connected space for your session
Rules vary for private insurance. Some plans may limit telehealth visits or require in-person visits periodically.
In-Person
In-person visits may be better if you prefer face-to-face connection, are starting therapy for the first time, don’t have a private space at home, or are experiencing more complex concerns. Many people find that being in the same room helps build a stronger personal connection with their provider over time.
Certain medications, especially controlled substances, may require in-person visits for legal or clinical reasons.
Medicare patients may need an in-person visit within six months of starting telehealth and at least once annually. Requirements vary for other insurance plans.
We do not offer on-call services; in-person visits are by scheduled appointment only.
